Let’s ensure young people experience care BEYOND care so they find their wings and become who they are meant to be." FBCYICN - CBCC Campaign

Beginning November 9th we are happy to be offering Trauma-informed Transition for kinship caregivers Monday mornings, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Registration is open!

You, or those you know, are invited to join us in the exploration of relationships, trauma, grief and loss, and advocacy as they relate to kids and youth being cared for by relatives.

Throughout these four sessions, you will learn plenty on these topics and how they relate to transitions of all kinds. Most importantly, the questions and conversations that manifest during these sessions are where the true nuggets of information live. Spending time with others that can relate, validate, and offer guidance is needed. Nobody should be doing this caring work in isolation.

For KINSHIP Caregivers:

Who can become a caregiver?

🩵 A caregiver can be someone that is patient and accepting with a strong support system of friends and family.

🩵 A caregiver can be a single person, couple or family, with or without children, that are 19 years or older and want to share their home with a child in need.

🩵 It is not necessary to own your own home and your financial situation need not be a barrier. You can work part-time, full-time, or be a stay-at-home parent.

🩵 Foster caregivers must have the maturity and capacity to carry out the day-to-day duties and responsibilities required to care for a child, meet the child’s needs, and be able to say goodbye when it’s time for them to return to their natural family.

Learn more about becoming a foster caregiver.
Information sessions happen every Wednesday.
