CUPE Local 2011 This is the official page of CUPE Local 2011.

We acknowledge that the District of Saanich lies within the territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples represented by the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples represented by the Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum and Malahat Nations, and the acts of colonization have made many equities for First Nation people who do speak this continue to have fibre and communities and cultures. We

recognition is that we have a responsibility to work toward truth and reconciliation, and we remain open to suggestions from indigenous members, on how our organization can continue to work for towards reconciliation.

District of Saanich staff, Union representatives, Mayor, and Council gathered today at the Saanich Operations Centre to recognize the National Day of Mourning.

This day honours the memory of those who have been killed, injured, or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents. This important day is also an opportunity to collectively renew our commitment to workplace safety.

The event was jointly hosted by the District of Saanich, CUPE Local 2011, Saanich Fire Department, IAFF Local 967, Saanich Police Department and Saanich Police Association.
