Although our Stir the Pot exhibit was back in February as part of BC Heritage Week we are still working behind the scenes on our end goal of a fundraiser cookbook that will include recipes, stories, biographies and photos of some of Union Bays residents past and present. We have a great start to our collection but who do you think we are missing?

Submissions can be sent to [email protected] we are looking for one or two photos of the person, a story or short biography that will fit on one page, and 2 to 4 recipe recipes of theirs.

Tomorrow at 1pm join us for a book talk with local author Kim Bannerman Pigott. It’s also a great opportunity to pick up burger and beverage tickets for our FUNdraiser on Tuesday at Match eatery in Courtenay. $30 gets you a burger, chips and either a Budweiser, house wine or fountain pop. This is a great way to support us and our fundraiser efforts to maintain the post office and gaol museum.

If you didn’t get the opportunity to stop by the art show opening tonight and meet some of the artist stop by this weekend. It’s open both Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm. There are some lovely pieces and some are for sale with all proceeds going to the local artists. You can also pick up your burger and beverage fundraiser tickets.
