Oct 23/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update

Shown here are a few shots of Brandon's hand fabricated tie-bar designed to span the gap he's cut in the cowl under the windshield to accommodate our 14 inch engine set-back. As shown his design all starts with his hand drawn paper template and goes from there. Sadly, once the dash is installed it will never be seen, but we'll know it's there.

Oct 9/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update
Using Mitch's cardboard blower, Brandon was able to get the final measurements required to design & fabricate his 5 piece dash extension. With the dash originally welded in place, our version is designed to slide out when required for future maintenance. Our modified Impala dash bolts in place while encompassing the A-pillar chassis tubes and accommodating our 14 inch engine set-back.

It's not yet finished but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek... Stay tuned for much more.

Sept 26/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update
Shown here are a few shots of Mitch's cardboard duplicate of our Mooneyham 1471 Blower and Enderle Injection Buzzard Catcher in place with our 14 inch engine set-back. Used as a mock-up Brandon can now take all the measurements needed and make his calculations for all the modifications required to accommodate the real stuff while making it all look sweet.

In the process of our firewall modifications, some rust was unearthed at the bottom of the A-pillars at the lower door hinge reliefs. As shown here in the before & after photos Brandon hand-fabricated the replacement pieces required before welding them in place to make them all as they were new from the GM line in 1960. Now back to our firewall mods...

Aug 31/26 "Nothing Else Matters" - Update

It's been a full month since we've posted last but with some days off to enjoy the summer with family, together with the time consuming task of completing this stage... August has passed. That said shown here are shots of Brandon's design and hand fabrication of our '60 Impala's dash. The extended setback design is all part of his master plan to accommodate the 14 inch setback of our 2500 HP engine.

Not just designed to fit, but built to be easily removable for any future maintenance of this one-off original. If you are wondering why... the answer is because he can. Where most would just leave out the stock dash of a custom chromoly round tube chassis car, Brandon has gone the extra mile to make our '60 Impala worthy of it's name... "Nothing Else Matters"
