Excerpt from the ceremony: As we continue this evening’s review, we pause to recognize an important milestone for one of our own. Tonight marks the final parade at RCSCC PORT AUGUSTA for our Coxswain, CPO1 Merrissa Ford. From the girl who recited In Flanders’ Fields during the Comox Remembrance Day ceremony, to the young woman she has become today leading her cadets, Merrissa has always set a strong example through her leadership, dedication, and commitment to this corps. Her time with us has left a lasting impact on both peers and junior cadets alike, as well as the adult staff. As she prepares to depart for Trinity Western University this fall, we wish her every success in her post-secondary journey and beyond. Shipmate, thank you for your service, you will always remain a valued member of the PORT AUGUSTA family.
BZ to all recipients, and to the entire Ship's Company for a job well done and an outstanding year. We wish you all the luck the summer as you continue your summer journey, to CTC or otherwise.
To those cadets who are leaving us this summer for new challenges and new locations: Fair winds and following seas!
