Solidarity with striking Saint-Gobain workers in Canada ✊

IndustriALL Global Union stands with Unifor Local 12 members who have been on strike at Saint-Gobain's Plattsville, Ontario facility since 24 July 2026, fighting to reverse wage erosion and secure their pensions.

97 per cent of workers voted to strike. Eight weeks later, they're still on the picket line.

"Their struggle for fair wages, secure pensions and respect for collective bargaining deserves the support of trade unions internationally," said Atle Høie, IndustriALL general secretary.

On 7–8 September 2026 in Bangkok, around 70 participants from 19 countries came together for the Regional Workshop on Just Transition: Regional Action and Network, organized by ANROEV and OSHE foundation International, with technical and financial partnership from Unifor, Solidar Suisse, and the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The workshop was part of the Climate Action and Just Transition Project, supported by Unifor through the Social Justice Fund (SJF) for ANROEV and OSHE Foundation International. The initiative aims to strengthen regional collaboration, amplify workers’ voices, and advance collective action for a fair, inclusive, and sustainable Just Transition across Asia and the Pacific.

National and regional trade unions, labour organizations, civil society groups, informal worker organizations, environmental groups and regional experts came together to share experiences, identify common challenges, and explore ways to strengthen collective action towards a fair, inclusive, and worker- and community-centred transition.
