Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, New Visions Toronto honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families and communities.
We recognize the strength, resilience and diverse cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, and acknowledge the ongoing impacts of residential schools.
Our commitment to dignity, belonging and inclusion calls us to listen, learn and reflect on our role in reconciliation. Meaningful change requires compassion, accountability and continued action—today and throughout the year.
We encourage our community to:
• Learn about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
• Listen to Indigenous voices and learn from their stories and experiences.
• Support Indigenous-led organizations, businesses and community initiatives.
Together, we can help build a future grounded in respect and understanding.
