Manitoba farmers! Did you know that you could recycle your grain bags? Follow these steps to make sure your plastics can be recycled:

1. Shake or cut to remove spoilage, dirt, rocks, etc. and roll with a mechanical roller. Rollers are available at some local collection sites.

2. Tie the rolls with baler twine to hold them together for transport.

3. Check with your local site for opening hours before dropping off material.

Alberta farmers! With the Alberta Ag-plastic. 𝑅𝑒𝑐𝑦𝑐𝑙𝑒 𝐼𝑑! pilot program, you can bring in grain bags for recycling at our collection sites using the map: https://csmap.cleanfarms.ca/FindMap. Make sure to remove debris, mechanically roll your grain bags and call your collection site before drop off. Let's keep our farms green, one bag at a time!

Farmers! As the planting season is in full swing, don't forget to follow these 3 steps to ensure that your containers can be recycled:

1. Triple or pressure rinse to ensure no product is wasted.
2. Remove caps and booklets (place in garbage); leave the glued-on label. Remove metal handle from fertilizer pails.
3. Return to your local collection site. Find out where: csmap.cleanfarms.ca/FindMap

2025 was a record year for agricultural plastic recycling in Canada. With strong participation from farmers and partners nationwide, Cleanfarms recovered:

βœ… 2.5 million kg of pesticide and fertilizer containers
βœ… 1.1 million kg of tote bags

In Manitoba, Alberta and Quebec, new collection records were set, and for the first time, small container recycling made its way to Newfoundland.

The 2025 Annual Report also highlights new closed‑loop solutions that turn used farm plastics into new agricultural packaging.
