Our Mission:
Our mission is to reinfuse arts into daily life, democratize the arts, and use a community-powered approach to address community issues. We utilize the arts to build more connected and resilient communities and make Lakeshore Arts a community hub that is welcoming, inclusive, and fun.

As one of Toronto’s six Local Arts Service Organizations (LASOs), Lakeshore Arts has a commitment to provide accessible arts experiences and services to people living outside of the Toronto downtown core. We serve the residents of Etobicoke, with a focus on Ward 3 Etobicoke-Lakeshore.

Song Circle starts tonight! Come sing with us at Lakeshore Arts (2422 Lake Shore Blvd W.) from 7 - 8:30 PM.

Song Circle is hosted by members of Toronto Community Singing and is open to all voices - that means you could be a professional singer, or someone who has never sung before, but wants to try something new. Songs are sung in the traditional call and response style. Light refreshments provided 🍪

We can’t wait to sing with you!

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a listening party for the Future Frequencies 2026 cohort to hear the recorded creative writing pieces they created during their time in the program. It was incredible to see the growth these writers went through and how their pieces adapted to audio format. Whether heartwarming, funny, thoughtful or all of the above, these pieces blew us away!

Thanks to the incredible Future Frequencies writing facilitator Jingshu Yao, and Sarra Gillani and Calan Pittis from Met Radio for all of your guidance.

We invite you to listen to the complete pieces when they air on Met Radio by tuning into metradio.ca or CJTM 1280 AM on your radio dial. The pieces will be aired tonight, October 5 at 7 PM EST, as well as Friday, October 9 at 9:12 am EST.

Are you an Etobicoke-based performer looking for gigs? We’d love to add you to our roster!

Lakeshore Arts is often looking for performing artists for community events and markets - we’re also often asked for recommendations for performers in Etobicoke. That’s why we’re building a roster of local clowns, hoopers, magicians, singers, face painters, caricature artists and more!

Deadline extended!

Are you a 2SLGBTQ+ writer looking to deepen your craft in a dedicated cohort and explore new poetic realms, supported by guided exercises from talented facilitators? Q Summit is for you!

We’ve extended the deadline to September 28 to give you some extra time to join in! While Etobicoke-based writers and those aged 19 - 29 will be prioritized, writers of any age and from anywhere in Toronto may register.

Dates: Mondays, September 28 to November 30, 2026 (9 workshops)
Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: In-person at Lakeshore Arts (2422 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Etobicoke)
$125 Honorarium provided!

Calling all volunteers!

Are you interested in supporting Lakeshore Arts’ free community arts programming? We are currently seeking volunteer support for program and event support, including our Fall Community Hubs!

If you want to make a difference to your local community while becoming a part of an amazing team of art lovers, get in touch by emailing [email protected] with your availability.

Interested in volunteering, but not free this fall? We’ll be putting out our next Call for Volunteers in January 2027, so feel free to send us an email between now and then and we’ll add you to our January outreach list.

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 19 will be our first Printmaking Community Hub, so mark your calendars! Join artists Jennie Davis and Amara King from 1 - 3:30 PM at Lakeshore Arts to explore printmaking techniques suitable for all ages and skill levels.

All Community Hub programming is FREE and open to all!

Printmaking Community Hubs will run on Saturdays afternoons from September 19 – October 24, 2026. See you there!

Our Fall Community Hubs are back!

Saturdays afternoons from September 19 – October 24, 2026
1 - 3:30 PM at Lakeshore Arts

Join artists Jennie Davis and Amara King for printmaking projects suitable for all ages and abilities. For the first 3 weeks, participants will learn about relief printing, a technique you can continue at home! The following 3 weeks will explore screen printing techniques.

Experience the magic of singing with others! Join members of Toronto Community Singing for a family-friendly weekly song circle at Lakeshore Arts. All voices are welcome!

As always, Community Hubs are free, all ages, no experience necessary, and all materials are supplied!

At Lakeshore Arts, community is what makes everything we do possible. That’s why we’re excited to launch our LSA Community Champions Program!

In the last 12 months, Lakeshore Arts has worked hard to listen to you, our community. And with your support, we tripled our programming. You came out in force to sing with us, paint with us, weave with us, and walk in the parade with us! And we want to keep this momentum going.

Registration is open now for Q Summit 2026!

Q summit is a 2-month long poetry intensive for 2SLGBTQ+ youth (ages 19 to 29) who want to deepen and invigorate their writing practice through guided exploration in a dedicated cohort! Q Summit 2026 is facilitated by Melly Davidson and Martin Gomes.
