We've had a blast so far with the next generation of radio broadcasters at Future Frequencies 2026!

Participants have worked with mentor Jingshu Yao to begin developing their written pieces. They've also gotten settled in at TMU's recording studios, getting a feel for what their work will sound like live on the radio. We've loved watching the writers connect with one another, try new styles, and push their creativity in new directions!

We can't wait for you to hear what everyone has been working on when the Future Frequencies 2026 cohort premieres their original pieces on Met Radio in September!

Last week we celebrated the final session of our Art Integration program at LAMP Community Health Centre Among Friends. Each week, members shared in a different wellness-focused art activity.

Pictured are our kokodamas. This Japanese technique involves wrapping plant roots with soil, moss and string. This method doesn’t require a pot for the plant to thrive. Our conversational theme of the week was empowerment, and how we can all continue to grow as long as we’re watered 🌱

A huge thank you to our facilitator extraordinaire, Carmen Ocampo, and to all of our incredible participants - we hope you enjoyed Art Integration as much as we did!
