🇺🇸 NYC, May 31, 2026: A 23 year old Jewish woman sent CAM footage of her assault on a subway train.

The incident began around 2:15 PM when a woman started speaking about Jews “stealing wealth” before turning her attention to her. The woman then told her she could “smell the babies” she had eaten and repeatedly yelled that “Jews eat babies,” a centuries old antisemitic blood libel.

The encounter quickly turned violent. The victim was choked, thrown to the ground, punched, beaten, and had her hair ripped out as passengers attempted to intervene too late.

📱 New research from the CAM Antisemitism Research Center found that neutral users, with no interest in Jewish issues, Israel, antisemitism, extremism, or conspiracy theories, were still gradually exposed to antisemitic narratives through Instagram’s recommendation system.

ARC tested two fresh accounts focused exclusively on wellness and fitness content. Within just three days, both were served content that progressed from mainstream self improvement to conspiracy theories and explicit antisemitic content.

The key finding: users do not need to search for antisemitic content to be exposed to it.

🇮🇶 Baghdad, Kingdom of Iraq, June 1–2, 1941: During the Farhud pogrom, anti Jewish attackers rampaged through Baghdad, murdering at least 180 Jews, injuring more than 1,000, and destroying homes, businesses, and synagogues.

At the time, around 135,000 Jews lived in Iraq as part of a community that had existed for more than 2,500 years.

Today, no Jews remain in Iraq. The Farhud remains one of the most significant and least known antisemitic atrocities of the 20th century.

🇺🇸 Lincoln, Nebraska, May 29, 2026: Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen signed a landmark executive order on Friday to strengthen protections against antisemitism in the state’s public schools.

“It’s really important that we think about the horrific act that took place in Israel on October 7th. We have seen just a ridiculous and unacceptable surge of antisemitism across our nation, across Nebraska, and at our high schools and our universities. In Nebraska, we do not tolerate hate in any form.”

“I’m proud to sign this executive order today to keep our state and our morals strong,” Governor Pillen said.

CAM is proud to have played a role in educating Nebraska leaders about the need to protect the Jewish community and confront the growing threat of antisemitism.
