Evergreen Brick Works

Evergreen Brick Works A reimagined historic brick factory in Toronto’s Don Valley. Here we test ideas that will help shape cities across Canada
for the better.

Run by Evergreen, a national non-profit transforming public spaces in our cities to build a healthier future for people and our planet. Whether you visit our public markets, attend conferences or
events in our redeveloped kiln building, the TD Future Cities
Centre, enjoy outdoor learning and nature play, or explore
public art in Toronto’s ravine system, you are helping shape
how we build sustainable cities of the future. All funds generated on campus support Evergreen, a national
not-for-profit accelerating urban innovations that make
Canadian cities more livable, green and prosperous. Evergreen acknowledges that the Brick Works site is built on occupied
Indigenous territory – the traditional homelands of the Wendat (Wendat)
and Petun (Pah-toon) First Nations, the Haudenosaunee (Ho-den-
O-Show-nee), and the Mississaugas of the Credit River – today home to
many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island.

A peek behind-the-scenes of Toronto’s largest year-round farmers market shows the passion and dedication needed to run this program at . 👀

Every Saturday, our Farmers Market team is up early helping set up vendors for a successful market day. They’re auditing waste bins, partnering with local organizations to reduce waste, and planning food education experiences like Tomato-Palooza and the Heart Berry Celebration. 🍓

This is what it takes to bring local, sustainable food to our community while diverting 10,000 lbs of waste from landfills and contributing $3.7 million a year to the local economy. 🌱

Help us show some love to our wonderful Farmers Market team in the comments! 💚👏
