L`Arche Toronto People with and without developmental disabilities living, working and celebrating together! L'Arche Toronto Homes Inc.

(L'Arche Toronto) offers community homes, daily living support, daytime programming and a variety of opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities living in the community. Our two community inclusion programs are a creative arts and performance program called Sol Express and a life skills program called Trying It on For Size (TIFS). Sol Express can be accessed via www.mycommunityhub.ca. TIFS programming has resumed on a one-to-one basis and more information can be found at www.larchetoronto.org/tifs or by emailing [email protected]

It’s Community Swap Weekend! 🔄🏡 L’Arche communities across Ontario are swapping pairs for a weekend of new experiences, friendships, and fun.

This year, L’Arche Toronto is swapping with L’Arche Ottawa!

🧡 The Work Continues

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never came home. We honour Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities. We listen to truths that must never be forgotten.

Reconciliation is not the work of one day.

At L’Arche, we believe in the power of relationship, belonging, dignity and walking alongside one another. These values call us not only to listen, but to act.

Orange Shirt Day began as a grassroots movement. It reminds us that change often begins with people who have the courage to tell the truth, stand together, and refuse to let injustice be forgotten.

Truth asks us to listen.
Reconciliation asks us to build relationships.
Solidarity asks us to act.

The work continues, and we each have a responsibility to be part of it.

Yesterday’s Core Member Summer Adventures had a little bit of everything! ☀️🚗🌊

Attila and Sue hit the open road together and enjoyed some delicious fried chicken for lunch. Margaret spent a relaxing day exploring The Beaches with Julie, including a visit to one of Toronto’s favourite cafés, Judy’s. She met with their star volunteer, Mary Egan. Meanwhile, Patricia, Dan, Robert, James, Leon, and Vanessa set off for a wonderful adventure to the Toronto Islands, taking in the beautiful views, fresh air, and making memories together. ⛴️🌿

Not pictured is the island’s accommodations for people with disabilities. Did you know that there is a waiting area for people with disabilities at the Ferry and they will get priority boarding? Patricia loved the VIP treatment.
