June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

Many men struggle in silence, often masking what they’re really feeling with phrases like “I’m fine” or “I’m just tired.”

Often, those words can hide deeper struggles.

Men’s mental health remains a silent crisis. In Canada, men account for 75% of all su***de deaths, and fewer than 30% of men experiencing mental health challenges seek professional support. Many continue to struggle in silence, held back by stigma and societal expectations.

Having open and honest conversations with the men in your life can make a powerful difference. It’s time to break the silence surrounding men’s mental health.

Day 3 of the CAMH Sunrise Challenge.

This photo is symbolic of the challenge in many ways.

We rose in the dark (note the headlight) and in the blink of an eye, the sun was rising behind us, bringing light and warmth.

The power of people and connection. These lovely ladies were my tent mates.
After a long day of trekking, sore and blistered, sharing treats and stories, we bonded, created life-long friendships. Knowing you have someone in your corner is sometimes all it takes to make a dark day brighter.

Healthy body, healthy mind. We were just getting ready to head out for a full day of trekking in the Sahara Desert. Whether your preference is playing a sport or going for a walk, being active is a great way to start the day.

Tying it all together…This trek was part of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, raising money and awareness for women and children fleeing domestic violence. Far too often there is a direct correlation between mental health and domestic violence. Participating in the , we are working together so “no one is left behind”
