The Right to Strike is Non-Negotiable

Historic victory for workers.

The International Court of Justice has affirmed that the right to strike is protected under international law.

This landmark ruling confirms that workers cannot have meaningful freedom of association or collective bargaining without the right to strike.

Canada’s unions helped advance this case, contributing to a victory for workers around the world.

📣On PSW Day, CUPE is organizing a rally to tell the Ford government: PSWs deserve the same rights as other regulated health care workers.

📅May 19, 10:30am
📍Doug Ford's constituency office, 964 Albion Road, Etobicoke

The new regulatory body (HSCPOA) denies workers the right to representation and protections provided to registered staff (such as nurses):
- No representation on the board of directors (CNO has nurses on its board)
- Lack of due process in response to complaints, such as the right to present evidence, or cross-examine witnesses.
- No right to appeal: even in cases where a PSW may have her license revoked!

Join us on Tuesday morning at Doug Ford's office to demand respect for personal support workers!
