NHLPA National Hockey League Players' Association. Because the name on the back of the jersey matters.

The National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), established in 1967, is a labour organization whose members are the players in the National Hockey League (NHL). The NHLPA works on behalf of the players in varied disciplines such as labour relations, product licensing, marketing, international hockey and community relations, all in furtherance of its efforts to promote its members and the game of hockey. In 1999, the NHLPA launched the Goals & Dreams fund as a way for the players to give something back to the game they love. Over the past 11 years, more than 60,000 deserving children in 23 countries have benefited from the players' donations of hockey equipment. NHLPA Goals & Dreams has donated more than $19-million to grassroots hockey programs, making it the largest program of its kind.

Last Thursday in Boston, NHLPA Executive Director, Marty Walsh, was a proud recipient of the Danny “Budzo” Light Bearer Award from the Maura Wilkins Foundation – an award that celebrates individuals who exemplify extraordinary love, service, and unwavering dedication to supporting those on the journey to recovery. 👏

“It is an honor to receive the Danny ‘Budzo’ Light Bearer Award,” said Marty Walsh. “Danny’s legacy and the Foundation’s work remind us to support those in need and to strengthen our community. I am grateful for this recognition.”

NHLPA Goals & Dreams teamed up with Jesperi Kotkaniemi of the Carolina Hurricanes and Joel Armia of the LA Kings to donate 20 sets of hockey equipment to Porin Ässät ry (Juniori-Ässät), giving children from their hometown in Pori, Finland, access to the game of hockey 🇫🇮👏
