Furniture Bank is a registered charity and social enterprise that offers a furniture removal / pickup service. We transfer gently used furniture and household goods donated by you to people who have recently transitioned out of homelessness, women and children escaping abusive situations, and refugees & newcomers to Canada.

That's our Leg Up Program at work, and is helping power it.

CN's Stronger Communities grant supports Leg Up, our social employment program for equity-deserving individuals. Participants gain paid experience, skills and confidence on our trucks and in our warehouse. Every pickup and delivery helps turn an empty house into a furnished home for a family emerging from crisis.

This is what a support call looks like when you're the person solving it in real time.

Meet JT, our fleet coordinator, in the next episode of our behind-the-scenes series.

He's at the Crow's Nest, which provides a bird's eye view for all of our logistics operations, working out a rerouted pickup while a truck waits and a family's delivery window ticks. No script. No tidy dashboard. The actual work of keeping the fleet moving.

The furniture doesn't move itself. Someone has to solve the problem when a driver hits traffic, an address is wrong, or a schedule shifts an hour before the crew arrives. That someone is JT.

We could hand you another statistic. Instead we're showing you the person who makes those numbers happen, on an ordinary Tuesday, doing the unglamorous part that never lands in the highlight reel.

Because behind every furnished home is a coordinator who kept the trucks running.

The furniture doesn't move itself. Real people load the truck, repair the dresser, and carry the bed frame up three flights.

So we're starting something new: a behind-the-scenes video series introducing the people behind the brand, one team member and one part of their job at a time.

You'll meet the warehouse crew who sort and repair every donation. The drivers who handle each pickup. The Workshop leads who guide corporate build days. Many of them came to us through Leg Up, our employment and skills-training program for people facing barriers to work.

Transparency isn't a talking point for us. It's showing you exactly who does the work and why it matters.

Because behind every furnished home is a person who made it happen, and we think you should know their names.
