Kids should play in the sand because it helps them learn through hands-on exploration. When they dig, scoop, pour and build, they’re strengthening their fine motor skills without even noticing. Sand play also sparks imagination. A pile of sand can turn into a road, a mountain, a cake or anything they dream up.

It’s also calming. The texture and rhythm of moving sand around can help kids relax and stay focused. And when they play with others, they learn to share space, take turns and work together. It’s simple play, but it supports a lot of healthy development.

PHIL CHILD CARE FOUNDATION (PCCF)

Phil Child Care Foundation (PCCF) vision is to provide high quality childcare services that focus on a child’s wellbeing and welfare.

According to UNICEF Canada’s “One Youth Initiative”, a sense of belonging is a core human need, yet the vast majority of Canadian children and youth feel isolated and unsupported by family, friends and teachers. In a data collected in April, 2019, the child and youth well-being index indicated that only 55% of children in Canada report a high level of life satisfaction; 27% report feeling sad or hopeless for long periods of time; and 1 in 3 reporting weekly symptoms linked to mental distress, including headaches and stomach aches

As Phil Child Care Foundation (PCCF), we have been given a mandate to revitalize the lost dignity of children not only in Canada but across continents. Our slogan says that “Every Child has a Voice” and we need to collectively take the initiative before we loose a generation.
