A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 to honour the legacy of Special Olympics creator and developer Dr. Frank J. Hayden and his late wife, Marion.

Dr. Hayden's vision and dedication helped give millions of athletes around the world the opportunity to compete, belong, and thrive. For those who knew him, were touched by his work, or want to pay tribute, all are welcome to attend.

The celebration will take place at Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School, 3040 Tim Dobbie Drive, Burlington, ON. Reception begins at 2:00 PM, with a presentation at 3:00 PM. The event is open to the public and will also be livestreamed for those unable to join in person at https://soontar.io/live-stream

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Special Olympics.
