Trails Youth Initiatives TRAILS MISSION
To challenge and equip vulnerable youth from at-risk areas of Toronto to become contributing members of the community.

TRAILS MODEL AND OBJECTIVES
Trails is based on a four year, year round, evidence-based model. Using outdoor residential experiences, Trails supports youth to cultivate: leadership; emotional resiliency and coping strategies; conflict resolution skills; and improved health and fitness. In short, we seek to help these youth thrive, in spite of the barriers they face. TARGET POPULATION
Trails support

Congratulations to our Graduates! 🎓🎉

This past weekend, we came together at Trails Lakeside to celebrate our graduates, the Illumineyes and Supernovas.

Throughout their time at Trails, they have shown resilience, growth, and a willingness to challenge themselves. They’ve built meaningful friendships, created lasting memories, and become an important part of our community.

As they begin their next chapter, we know they’ll carry forward the confidence, lessons, and connections they’ve gained along the way. We can’t wait to see all they accomplish!

Trails will always be part of their story—and they will always be part of ours. ❤️

Thank you, ! 🫶🏼

From dock demolition and repairs to spreading wood chips, splitting wood, w**d whacking, and cutting grass, the group accomplished an incredible amount and made a lasting impact.

Your dedication, teamwork, and continued support mean so much to us. Thank you for being such valued partners and for helping make Trails an even better place. 💚

We’re so grateful for partners like Telus, whose ongoing support of Trails continues to make a meaningful, far-reaching impact. 🌲

Last week their team spent the day with us, stepping out of the city and into nature to lend a hand—spreading wood chips, splitting logs, organizing our equipment room and so much more.

It’s days like these that remind us how powerful community can be. Thank you, Telus, for your commitment and care. 🙌

Thanks to YOU, and your love of the outdoors, we raised over $75,000 in the Get Outside Challenge! 💚

Whether you walked, biked, paddled, or soaked up the sunshine, every hour outside and every dollar raised made a difference. ☀️

A huge thank you to our Summit Sponsor, Interac, for their incredible support throughout the challenge. 🙌

Any participants can still log their hours up until tomorrow — and anyone interested in making a donation can still do so into next week!

🎉 Final results and winners will be in the Spring Newsletter later this month!

Getting outside and Tree Planting 🌱

As part of the Get Outside Challenge, we partnered with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority for a tree planting day at Tommy Thompson Park. Despite the chilly temperatures and threat of rain, 28 volunteers came out to plant approximately 60 trees in support of greener, healthier communities.

We were grateful to have volunteers join us from our long-time supporters, Scotiabank and Mackenzie Investments/IGM, along with a Trails alumni. 💚👏🏻

Afterwards, the TRCA staff led volunteers on a guided hike where they learned more about the park’s plants, animals, and bird species.

Thank you to the TRCA and to everyone who joined us for a great day outdoors! 🌿

As we continue with this week’s Get Outside Challenge, we also want to recognize that it’s Mental Health Week in Canada 🇨🇦💚

Countless studies show that getting outside and spending time in nature can have a positive impact on our mental health — reducing stress, improving mood, and helping us feel more connected and grounded. That’s one of the reasons we do what we do at Trails, and one of the reasons we’re encouraging our community to get outside this week!

Every walk, bike ride, or moment spent outdoors counts. Join us and challenge yourself to get outside — or consider making a donation to support our mission. 🌿☀️

Grateful for another incredible day with our partners at Roots 🌱

Last week their team rolled up their sleeves and jumped into everything—from sanding and spreading woodchips to washing maple syrup buckets and sorting equipment. It was a day full of teamwork, impact, and shared purpose.

Thank you, Roots, for your continued support and for helping us keep our youth safe and warm 💚
