We wanted to share a beautiful fundraiser by Shawn Daigle of Labrador City, in honour and memory of his wife, Linda.

Linda and Shawn lived in Labrador, but Linda received some of her cancer treatments at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in St. John's. Shawn wanted to do something special in her memory that connected the two places where she was treated, so he will be taking part in a motorcycle ride leaving Labrador City on July 24th and finishing at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre on July 31st.

We’re so grateful to the Avalon Motorcycle Ride For Dad and their amazing fundraising for prostate cancer research. Each year, this event supports our mission to improve cancer care here at home through funding innovative research and education. We’ll be there on ride day to cheer them on! 🏍️

Today is National Cancer Survivors Day - a day to recognize cancer survivors - both those who have completed their treatment, and those who are still receiving treatment.

It is a day to draw awareness to the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis, and to join with all survivors in celebrating their milestones and victories along the way - however big or small they may be.
