There are still two open positions available for WISE GSS for the 2026/27 upcoming academic year! If you are continuing your graduate studies during this time, and are interested in being a part of the WISE GSS Board of Directors, we highly encourage you to apply for a position! Applications are due Friday, June 5th, 2026 @ 11:59pm. To apply for a position, you must submit a statement of interest and qualifications to our email [email protected].
The two positions available and their responsibilities are:
Director, Communications:
Maintain The Society’s members list
Promote and publicize The Society events in coordination with the Director of Social Media
Notify The Society members of upcoming events
Distribute Board Meeting Minutes, General Meeting Minutes and upcoming meeting Agenda’s to all The Society members via listserv at least 48 hours before the next meeting
Co-Director, Event Planning:
Coordinate the planning of The Society’s events, including booking venues, supplying food, activities, etc
Work with the treasurer to secure funding for The Society’s events, and present an annual budget for The Society
Maintain The Society’s event traditions (e.g. July Hike, Paint Night and the conference
Keep The Society updated on upcoming event planning at The Society Board meetings
Prepare end reports for each event two weeks after the event date, and present at The Society Board meetings for approval
Distribute posters around campus when appropriate
