β€œTo actively volunteer in our community, support the intellectually
disabled, the youth, and the less fortunate, and to maintain a
fraternal relationship with fellow members.” We run the weekly Rogers TV Bingo: Since 1995, we have contributed over $4,000,000 to 125+ charitable groups and causes. We created Little League Baseball in Saint John in 1952 and have given financial support for the past 6

8 years. We support numerous community projects: Catena Jobs Plus Skills and Development Center Inc. for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, Children's Wish Foundation, Loch Lomond Villa, Canadian Cancer Society, Salvation Army Kettle Drive, Brown Bag Lunch Program in local schools, Poppy Campaign for Royal Canadian Legion, Portage Atlantic Youth Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Centre, Mental Health, 11 area food banks, D.A.R.E. We have an active Community Outreach Program (COP) that maintains partnerships with three non-profits: One Change Inc. at the Nick Nicolle Community Centre, the Crescent Valley Resource Centre, and the Carleton Community Centre. We provide monthly support to these organizations and give a hand up to help improve the lives of the citizens who access these non-profits. Check out our official page UCT Jack Kidd Council #755 where you will see photos and information about our community involvement. We have fraternal social activities: Monthly meetings & communal meal, the Vernon McCarville Memorial Golf Tournament, Annual Summer Picnic, Christmas gathering, Casino and Card Nights. The Brown Bag Lunch (BBL) program was started by Joan Shillington in 2014 and Simonds High School was the first school served by the program. It grew to serve students from Compass Education Support Program, Forest Hills School, Bayside Middle School, Saint John High School, and Saint Malachy's Memorial High School with over 100+ volunteers, and volunteers prepared 430 lunches per week. At the final volunteer appreciation luncheon today, representatives from the schools spoke about the positive impact of the program. BBL will cease its operations this June as it will be replaced by the universal lunch program provided by the Provincial Government. Our members have supported and volunteered with this program for many years, and we are proud that we were able to assist with this essential program.
