Thank you to everyone who came out on June 6 to support our second annual Walk for Mental Health. We are thrilled to announce that it was a remarkable success, raising over $12,500 to date! šŸ™Œ šŸ™Œ

And thanks to the generous support of the JT Clarke Family Foundation, we now have an incredible opportunity to DOUBLE our efforts. They have pledged to match all donations up to $15,000. 🄳🄳

This means we have until August to reach our goal of $30,000, which will directly fund free and low-cost counselling for individuals in need within our communities. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges.

Please consider donating to support this vital cause. Together, we can create a positive impact and ensure that everyone has access to the mental health resources they deserve. https://loom.ly/VJAk-fA

Anxiety can show up in ways people don’t always recognize.

It’s not always panic attacks or obvious distress. Sometimes it looks like overthinking every conversation, constantly feeling on edge, struggling to relax, or needing reassurance just to quiet your thoughts for a moment.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone, and you’re not ā€œtoo sensitiveā€ or overreacting. Anxiety can be exhausting, especially when you’re carrying it quietly.

Support can help you better understand what you’re feeling and develop tools to manage it with more compassion and less overwhelm. šŸ’›

We recently had the opportunity to spend an overnight retreat at Camp Medley with our team and our colleagues from Laura Gatien & Associates. šŸ’›

In just over 24 hours, we stepped away from our day-to-day work to focus on something equally important: learning, connection, and community.

From somatic training with Leslie Costello to team-building activities, meaningful conversations, games, and plenty of laughter, the retreat gave us space to recharge and invest in ourselves as mental health professionals and as people.

The work we do can be deeply rewarding, but it also requires us to continually learn, reflect, and care for our own well-being. Opportunities like this help us return with greater presence, compassion, and energy for the individuals, families, and communities we serve.

We're grateful for the time together, the learning we shared, and the relationships that continue to strengthen this important work. 🌿

Please join us in welcoming Breanna to the Just Us team! šŸ’›

Breanna is a compassionate counselling intern who brings a warm, collaborative, and strengths-based approach to supporting her clients. She is especially passionate about working with young adults, students, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, and life transitions.

With a background in both psychology and biology, Breanna brings a thoughtful and holistic understanding of mental health and well-being to her work.

Breanna is based in our Saint John office and will complete her internship in December 2026. We’re so happy to have her as part of our team.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to figure out what all the different therapy types actually mean.

The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some people want practical coping tools and structure, while others want space to process emotions, relationships, or past experiences more deeply.

What matters most is finding support that feels safe, comfortable, and helpful for you.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A good therapist can help guide you toward an approach that fits your needs and goals. šŸ’›

Pride Month is a celebration of identity, community, visibility, and resilience, but it’s also an opportunity to reflect on how we show up for one another.

Being a good ally doesn’t require perfection. It starts with listening, learning, respecting people’s identities, and speaking up when it matters.

Small actions can help create safer, more supportive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in our communities, workplaces, schools, families, and mental health care systems.

At Just Us, we believe everyone deserves care and support where they feel seen, respected, and valued. šŸŒˆšŸ’›
