It is with great sadness we share the tremendous loss of one of a long time friend, coach, volunteer, and all-around everything.
Coach Chuck (Williamson) passed away earlier this week.
Chuck coached for our St. Mary's Majors teams for over 14 years, creating many lasting memories and friends that he referred to as his 'hockey family'. Being part of his hockey community was one of his greatest passions that he took tremendous pride in, with one of his most prized possessions being his 'Majors' coaching jacket. To capture the magnitude of his contributions on the bench and to our hockey community would be impossible.
Each player he coached and some he never had the chance to, left a lasting impression with him. Oftentimes you would see him at a game asking 'what are you doing here, you don't have a kid on the ice ?' to this his response being 'I just came to watch so and so....' He was always encouraging and supporting players to not only play and learn the game but to have fun.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be much appreciated by the family.
