We’re proud to celebrate Rotary Club of St. Catharines South member, past president, and current board member Krystal Riddell, who was recently featured in the May 2026 Rotary Magazine for her leadership in green burial advocacy and environmentally conscious funeral care.

Krystal is also a member of the Paul Harris Society, a generous donor, philanthropist, and dedicated supporter of Rotary’s Every Rotarian Every Year initiative. Her continued commitment to service and community impact reflects the spirit of Rotary both locally and beyond.

Our Rotary Club, in partnership with Garden City Comedy Festival is hosting a Comedy Night in support of the Family Room at Marotta Family Hospital in Niagara.

This special space supports families during some of their hardest moments - when a child is in hospital. It’s a place to step away from the stress and simply be together.

Each month, the Family Room supports ~3,000 visits, offering:
☕ warm meals, snacks, coffee & tea
🧺 laundry and everyday essentials
📞 a quiet space to rest, regroup, or reconnect
🧸 activities, TV, and a place to just be a family again

Now it’s our turn to give back in a different way - through laughter!

What started as a local initiative within Rotary District 7090 has grown into a powerful cross-border movement 🌎💙

Each year during Earth Week, Rotary clubs on both sides of the border come together for the Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup — mobilizing thousands of volunteers to help protect the waterways that connect us all.

We’re grateful to Rotary member Dan Toppari for leading this annual effort for our club — and to fellow Rotarians Rob, Krystal, and Graham for jumping in to help make it happen.

We were also proud to be joined by students from Eden High School and Thorold Secondary School — thank you for showing up and making a difference in your community.

In recognition of National Volunteer Week, we’re proud to celebrate that every Rotarian is a volunteer — giving their time and energy to create lasting impact in communities here and around the world.

Every piece picked up matters.

Paul Harris was an American lawyer best known for founding Rotary International in 1905 in Chicago.

He started Rotary as a small group of professionals who met regularly to build friendships and give back to their community. That idea grew into a global network of service clubs focused on humanitarian efforts like promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, and supporting education.

Today, Rotary has millions of members worldwide, and Harris is remembered as a pioneer of organized community service.

Today, my son William and I took some time to volunteer with our friends at the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South as part of the Great Lakes Watershed Clean-Up. Together, we spent time along the beautiful St. Lawrence Seaway doing our part to care for the environment by collecting litter and helping protect this important ecosystem.

There’s something incredibly meaningful about working side by side, and contributing, even in a small way, to the health of our planet. These moments not only support our environment, but also help shape the values we pass on to the next generation.

As we move through Earth Month, I encourage everyone to find a simple way to give back, whether it’s picking up litter, planting something green, or supporting local environmental initiatives. Every effort, no matter how small, truly makes a difference 💚
