Today, the OSBCU officially filed Notice to Bargain with the provincial government, marking the start of central negotiations for education workers across Ontario.
Standing alongside AEFO, ETFO, OECTA, OSSTF/FEESO, and our education sector allies, we are united in calling for the investments our schools need: better funding, adequate staffing, and stronger supports for students and education workers.

This unprecedented solidarity sends a clear message to the Ford government: education workers and teachers are united in the fight for strong, well-funded public education.

Bargaining starts today, but our strength comes from our members. Stay informed, stay engaged, and stay united.

Members of the CUPE 4156 Executive are proud to be attending the 2026 CUPE Ontario Convention this week in Toronto alongside CUPE members from across the province.

Convention is an important opportunity to learn, collaborate, share ideas, and stand together on the issues that matter most to education workers and all public sector workers. From workshops and resolutions to solidarity actions and networking with other locals, we are proud to have CUPE 4156 represented at this year’s convention.

We look forward to bringing back new ideas, resources, and inspiration to continue supporting and advocating for our members.
