Then on Wednesday June 17th we were at it again, as we hosted another BBQ for Peterborough Housing. This time we attended the Lake Street address and we had a fantastic time serving the folks there.

The weather cooperated for us once again and the Lions on the bbq did an awesome job.

I consider myself so fortunate to be able to be involved with so many wonderful hard working people that call themselves Lions.
Thank you all.

On Tuesday June 16th the East Peterborough Lions were at it early in the day. We hosted 2 BBQs at the same time. One at Nicholl's Oval for the Parkinson's Society and one on Roger Street for Peterborough Housing.

And both were so very well received by all. The East Peterboroug Lions Club have been hosting the Parkinson's BBQ for a number of years and this was our 2nd year hosting the BBQ at Roger Street.

A huge thank you to everyone that came out to enjoy the wonderful weather and the fellowship. And of course a big thank you for the wonderful compliments from both organizations and those attending.

And then the next adventure began.

On Monday June 15th the East Peterborough Lions Club held their 3rd Annual Murder Mystery Dinner. This year it was a comedy of 3 Elvis Devas with one standing up to the management.

And as alwasy we included our all you can eat chicken wings, homemade beans and some wonderful potato salad. With ice cream and cookies for dessert.

A big congratulations to the three prize winners of the night. We are so happy to see other leaving with smiles and laughs.

A huge congratulations to all of the members involved and most especially to the three divas, Lion Ashely, Lion Kirby and Lion Laura for shaking their Elvis tailbones as they preformed for the audience. Every Lion gave their all during the performance but most of all everyone had a good time.

What a fun fantastic night it was. And of course a huge thank you to all of the members that came out to help make the night happen. From the one running the elevator to the kitchen staff, to those cleaning up afterwards. It truly was a magical night and I can't wait to get started on the next one.

What a fun, busy week it has been my friends.

Starting with the final District A3 Cabinet meeting held in Bancroft on June 13th. Even though there were only a few in attendance, it felt great to read and hear the reports from those that attended.
It was nice to share some fellowship with those that were there and to be able to listen as they spoke of the progress that was made by the committess during the year; the successes of the chairs that gave their all and the opportunities that other Lions were able to step up to.

And then my proudest moment came, and I was honored to INSTALL the incoming District Officers for the Lions year of 2026 - 2027. I want to offer my best to each and everyone of them as they lead this district and to let them know that, while I may not be on the cabinet anymore I am still available to help when and where I can.

And finally on Thursday the East Peterborough Lions were happy to host a BBQ at Beavermead Park for the Amigo's program.

This is a group of young individuals in a High School program that is run by the Heads up for Inclusion. The program brings together indiviuals with and without disablities; to build friendships and meaningful experiences based on common interests

And they were thrilled we were there. This was our second year hosting the bbq for them and I am sure we will be back as often as they will invite us.

Lion Theresa and I left the last event a little early as we were invited to attend the Port Hope Lions Club to induct 2 NEW members into the club.

We were joined by Lion Nicole and enjoyed a wonderful Pizza dinner and some fantastic fellowship. I was thrilled to help this club grow as I inducted New members Ford and Pat Underwood in to the fellowship of the Port Hope Lions Club.

Welcome New Lions Ford and Pat and thank you to Lion Linnette for growing her club. And of course congratulations to all at the Port Hope Lions Club.

KEEP ROARING my friends.

Then on Wednesday, the East Peterborough Lions were so excited to be invited to the Kawartha Heights Public School Fun Day to host a BBQ for them. Every member that came out to help was so excited to be back working with the schools once again And we all plan on expanding this type of projects.

The organizers for the event were so happy to have us there and we were just as happy to be there. But what made it extra special for us was the fact that the event was being held to raise funds to buy new playground equipment for the school and we just loved that idea.

And we want to say a huge thank you to the organziers for all their hard work and to the young folks for the wonderful thank you cards. Being volunteers is something we all love to do our friends.

What a fun, fantastic week it has been. Let me see if I can catch up with the photos.
On Tuesday Lion Theresa and I attended the Chemung Lake, Bridgenorth Ennismore District Lions Club for a wonderful Steak and baked potato dinner. And it was all fre for us!

Well, it came with a price that I was more than willing to pay actually. While there I was given the opportunity to induct a new Lion into their club. Congratulations to NEW Lion Kamie Domenico and a big thank you to incoming President Lion Lydia for getting us one step closer to our goal.

And then following that service, I was invited to host the NEW Officer Installation Service and I installed all of the new board for the Chemung Lake, Bridgenorth, Ennismore District Lions Club.

A huge congratulations to all the new board members and from Lion Theresa and myself and the members of the East Peterborough Lions Club we wish you all the very best.

Ok, I have finished my drive now back to work on Lions. The second event that we attended was truly a proud Lions moment for us.

As Guiding Lions, Lion Theresa and I were joined by Lion Lori and Lion Nicole as we attended the 95th Charter Anniversary of the Port Hope Lions Club. And what a fantastic event they put together!

From the photo spot to the wonderful catered meal, everything was so well done. From the moment you arrived you could feel the pride these members have in their club. The history corner was so well done and you could feel their pride as they each took turns showing people just what they had discovered of the clubs past.

I was honored to be the MC for the event and want to say a huge thank you to those who came forward to say a few words to those in attendance. Current President Lion Stacy and incoming President Lion Autumn welcomed everyone and spoke about the future of the Club. PDG Lion Bob came up and spoke about the history of the Port Hope Lions Club in Port Hope and the importance of the work they have done since being in Port Hope.

Lion Don R spoke on LCIF and the ways that the Port Hope could call on Lion International in times of need. And then I was so happy to be able to invite PDG Lion Dr. Doug Galt to come up and say a few words. Incoming Region Chair Lion Elaine spoke on her upcoming year and the fact that the Port Hope Lions Club were the sponsor of the Peterborough Lions Club.

Lion Theresa and I were presented with a wonderful gift on behalf of the club for all our work as their Guiding Lions for the past year and a half. But truly it has been our pleasure.

Following the speeches we were treated to a wonderful Steak and chicken meal prepared and served by Lion Gus and his catering company. Folks, I have to tell you the meal was FANTASTIC.

I want to say a huge thank you to those that attended the event and to the members of the Port Hope Lions Club for keeping Lionism alive and well in Port Hope. Thank you to the members in attendance from the East Peterborough Lions, the Peterborough Lions, the Keene Lions and the Havelock Lions for attending and representing your clubs.

And Congratulations to the members of the Port Hope Lions Club on celebrating their 95th Charter Anniversary. It really was a great night.

This past little while I was so thrilled to be able to attend 2 events that I was so proud of attending.

On Monday May 25th the District A3 Leader Dog Committee and Dog Guide Casey, were exctied to attend the Legistative Assembly at Queens Park through an invitation by MPP Dave Smith. They picked us all up here in Peterborough and we had a fun fantastic day.

We started off visiting the assembly, listening to the politicans until they went for a break. We were then treated to a wonderful fresh buffet with MPP Dave Smith and his assistance. What a feast!
Following lunch we were treated to a tour of the building with a tour guide and learned so much about the history of the building.
At 3:30 they loaded us up and we headed home.

I swear I thought Lion John Morris was going to explode with excitement.

A huge thank you too Andrea Dodsworth and MPP Dave Smith for the wonderful adventure and for honouring Lion John and Leader Dog Casey with this special invitation. It truly was an exciting day.
