For the next feature in our Over a Century of Power campaign, we’re highlighting Orillia Power Generation Corporation and its long‑serving waterpower stations, originally built in 1917. These stations remain an important part of Ontario’s renewable energy system, serving communities for more than 100 years.

We’re continuing our Over a Century of Power feature on Ontario Power Generation with another look at several of its long‑serving waterpower stations. These facilities have supported communities across Ontario for generations and remain an important part of the province’s clean energy system.

Ontario’s waterpower stations have been part of the province’s energy story for more than a century, delivering affordable, reliable and secure electricity to communities across the province.

Today we’re launching Over a Century of Power, a campaign celebrating stations that have been operating for more than 100 years and demonstrating the lasting value of hydropower.

We begin with Renfrew Power Generation Inc., operator of two long‑serving stations on the Bonnechere River:
