OFAH Executive Director Matt DeMille was invited to the Conservative Hunting and Angling Caucus Garden Party at Stornoway last night.

While meeting with the Official Opposition Leader Pierre Pollievre they discussed the many ways the OFAH is making a difference and what we are trying to do for anglers, hunters, and conservation, as well as our collaborative work with wildlife affiliates across Canada through the National Fishing and Hunting Collaborative.

Eight years ago, Allen Babakhani was fly fishing with a good friend for common carp on the sandy shores of Lake Erie when me managed to hook and land this beauty weighing 41.88 lbs. Knowing the fish was likely a new Ontario record, he rushed to the nearest grocery store to get an official weight on a government-inspected scale.

OFAH Director of Policy Mark Ryckman spent Sunday attending the Conservative Hunting and Angling Caucus Outdoor Symposium in Ottawa. The meeting drew outdoor groups from across Canada to discuss issues facing angling and hunting, sport shooting, equipment manufacturers, and conservation in general. At the invitation of MP Blaine Calkins, the OFAH presented on the state of knowledge regarding chronic wasting disease.
