The Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Foundation provides enrichment opportunities and other supports for children Involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. The foundation is committed to partne

ring with donors, businesses and other granting organizations to provide ways for the community to respond to the current and future needs of local children who are at risk. Most importantly, the foundation is dedicated to supporting children and youth placed in interim or extended care (formerly known as Foster Care) with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society, by encouraging them to achieve their full potential by providing them with life-enriching opportunities and experiences.

Today, we recognize and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day — a day to honour the traditions, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada. ❤️🧡💛

Observed on the summer solstice, this day carries cultural and spiritual significance for many Indigenous communities and serves as an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect.

We encourage everyone to take time today to learn more about the Indigenous history of the land we live on and to celebrate the strength, resilience, and knowledge of Indigenous peoples.

Behind every number in our annual report is a child and family who got to feel like their community has their back, and that someone was in their corner.

That someone is you.

Take a look at our newly released Annual Report to learn about kids like Maya that you helped support

Maya's family had a hard summer. By August, new school supplies weren't something anyone was thinking about because there was just too much going on.

When she received her backpack (filled with everything she'd need for Grade 2) she asked her mom if she could wear it around the house.

Her mom told us she cried after Maya went to bed. "It was the first time in months that my daughter got to feel like every other kid."
In 2025, 210 children received a fully stocked backpack, ready for the first day of school. And that's just one of the ways your community showed up for kids this year.
