You or someone you know may be eligible for the Disability Tax Credit and may be able to claim it retroactively for up to 10 years.

The DTC can help reduce the amount of income tax paid by people with disabilities or supporting family members. It can also open the door to other important supports, including the Registered Disability Savings Plan, the Canada Workers Benefit disability supplement, the Child Disability Benefit and the Canada Disability Benefit.

I am hosting community workshops in July to help residents learn more about the DTC, who may qualify, what documents are needed and how the application process works.

Workshops are open to everyone, whether you are applying for yourself, supporting a family member or helping someone in the community.

🎨 What an incredible day at Inclusion Parksville!

Yesterday, we had the absolute honour of welcoming the talented MONK, of MONK Art Gallery, for one of her signature painting sessions with our participants. MONK is a cherished friend to our community, and her visits are always something truly special.

This time, she guided everyone through painting stunning birch tree canvases -- and wow, did our participants and staff ever rise to the occasion! The focus, the joy, and the creativity in that room were something else entirely. πŸŒΏπŸ–ŒοΈ

MONK's beautiful work is on display at her gallery on Morison Avenue here in Parksville -- absolutely worth a visit if you haven't been.

We are so deeply grateful for the time and talent she so generously shares with us. This is the kind of gift that money can't buy.

πŸ“Έ Check out these amazing photos from the session! We are so proud of everyone's special finished pieces!

πŸ‘‡ And if you'd like to get to know MONK a little better -- her story, her motivation, and her passion for helping others discover their own creativity -- don't miss this wonderful video.

Thank you, MONK. From all of us. πŸ’›

What a day for our Discovery crew! 🌟

Our participants recently had the chance to visit the Oceanside RCMP detachment for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. They learned about what it takes to serve and protect our community, asked great questions, and got to see firsthand the work that goes on to keep Oceanside a wonderful place to live.

Experiences like this are exactly what Discovery and ODP are all about, connecting our participants with their community and the amazing people in it. A big shoutout to the Oceanside RCMP for welcoming our groups so warmly! πŸ™Œ

Adventure mode: ON! πŸ™Œ Our ODP participants and staff have been out exploring the best of Vancouver Island, with recent trips to both Neck Point AND Elk Falls, and the energy has been absolutely incredible.

There's something special about living on an island where breathtaking nature is practically in your backyard, and our participants and staff have been diving in headfirst to breathe in that fresh air, spend time together, and enjoy some exercise. One look at these photos and you can feel the joy radiating off every single person. This is what it's all about! 🌊🌲

🌈 Happy Pride Month from Inclusion Parksville! 🌈

Yesterday, some of our amazing ODP participants, Shane, Denise, Simon, Lynette, and Sara, along with staff member Bonnie, had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Pride flag raising in Qualicum Beach. It was a beautiful moment of community, visibility, and celebration! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβœ¨

We are so proud to stand alongside the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, honouring the histories, voices, and contributions that continue to inspire a more inclusive world.

At Inclusion Parksville, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and welcomed every single day.

Join us in celebrating National AccessAbility Week from May 31 to June 6!

This year's theme is "Building a Strong, Accessible Canada". Let's continue to work together to build a country where everyone has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.

National AccessAbility Week, which runs from May 31 to June 6, 2026, is a time to celebrate the progress we’ve made to build a more accessible and disability inclusive Canada while continuing to break down barriers.

There's nothing quite like a walk along Qualicum Beach -- and our amazing Discovery crew soaked up every single moment this past Friday! πŸ™Œ

The fresh ocean air, the sound of the waves, the stunning Oceanside views … it truly doesn't get better than this! This is one of the greatest perks of calling this beautiful part of Vancouver Island home. πŸ’™

A huge shoutout to Ethan, Shane, Ashley, and Sebastien for bringing such great energy on the beach -- and to staff member Amy for making it all happen! What a fantastic group. 🌟

Check out these great pics from our fabulous beach walk -- smiles, sea breezes, and good vibes all around! πŸ“ΈπŸ‘‡

Our Discovery participants have been absolutely shining lately, and we just had to share what they've been up to!

πŸ–ŒοΈ Watercolor + tracing magic
Participants have been combining watercolor painting with tracing techniques to create beautiful works of art -- each one totally unique! Way to go, Rhys, Maddie, and Chris!

⭐ Spotlight on Sam!
Sam set herself a goal to paint four animal pictures and frame them -- and she absolutely nailed it! We are SO proud of you, Sam! πŸΎπŸ–ΌοΈ

🏺 Exploring Ancient Egypt
Lianna and Rachel (along with staff member Angela) dove into a study of Egypt and crafted their very own headdresses as part of the learning experience. They had an absolute blast and looked amazing! πŸ‘‘

Every day in Discovery brings something new to celebrate. We are endlessly inspired by this incredible group! πŸ’›
