We were so pleased to welcome approximately 80 people to today’s event! Thank you to Doug for leading us, and to all the volunteers who made sure our elders had hats and sunscreen. And thank you to our community for joining us once again for the ParticipACTION Community Challenge!

A shared joy is a double joy!

Yesterday, we were excited and humbled to receive a $3,750 grant from the Parksville Qualicum Community Foundation. These funds are directed towards our Community Connections Space.

We're working towards adding the roof to our safe outdoor platform, providing a space to host a myriad of community events that will help us expand and develop deeper relationships within the community by fostering cooperation and connection with our residents in long-term care, assisted living, and our adult day programs.

We are grateful to Charlene Smith and Stephen Watson from PQF for taking the time to visit our wonderful facility, hear our story, and meet the people who invest their lives and energy into caring for the community we have built.

Thank you for choosing to accompany us on this journey. We look forward to sharing the lasting impact of your generosity with our residents, families, and greater community. Parksville - Qualicum Foundation

Today is National Long-Term Care Day, a time to recognize the importance of quality long-term care and the growing need for access to it.

The number of people waiting for a long-term care bed in B.C. has increased by 200% over the past decade, while the average wait time has nearly doubled to 290 days.

Behind every statistic is a senior and a family waiting for the care and support they need.
