Important news: Parksville City Council will consider an application to develop 1465 Grieg Road on Monday, March 2 at 1pm.
Early signs look good:
"The buildable area on the envisioned new parcel is proposed to be further limited to 13.3 hectares (32.9 acres) as a result of two proposed restrictive covenant areas totalling approximately 2.9 hectares (7.2 acres) that are intended to form a ‘no build’ area. The protected covenant area includes identified wetland areas.
The remaining 42.7 hectares (105.5 acres) of the 58.9-hectare (145.6-acre) site, approximately 72%, is proposed to form a separate parcel that is intended to be an ecological gift to the BC Parks Foundation.
Compared to the prior application, the envisioned planned neighbourhood development is approximately half the size, with approximately twice as much land proposed to be set aside as
greenspace."
