Outstanding work, PO1 Poaty-Amar! 🏅 This summer, PO1 Poaty-Amar was a staff cadet in the boatshed department at HMCS Ontario. Huge congratulations to Course Cadet Lavoie! 🎊 CCdt Lavoie was presented the Top Cadet Award from his division at the HMCS Ontario seamanship graduation. CCdt Lavoie thought the course was a wonderful time. He enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing so many great things. We cannot wait for him to bring back his new skills and pass along the knowledge to our other cadets.

Shout out to Course Cadet Casselman! 🤩 During the Sail 1 graduation parade, CCdt Casselman received the Most Improved Cadet award for Summerside division.

CCdt Casselman enjoyed the summer training experience. His favorite parts were the people, the sense of community, the friendships and the kindness throughout the duration of his course.To summarize the experience, time flies by when you're having fun!

Way to go Course Cadet Purser! 🎉 Cadet Purser was awarded the Most Improved Cadet from his division this summer.

Cadet Purser attended the seamanship course at HMCS ONTARIO. This was his first time attending a Cadet Training Centre (CTC) and really enjoyed his summer in Kingston. He learned new skills, made a lot of friends along the way, and found the overall CTC experience amazing! His favourite part of the course was flags & pennants and he also had a great time visiting the S.S Keewatin.

On July 4th & July 5th, several of our cadets had the opportunity to head off to summer training on a variety of courses! 🚌

On June 14th, 2026, we welcomed honoured guests, friends, family, and our reviewing officer Vice Admiral Angus Topshee to our ACR.

The cadets demonstrated all their hard work and dedication this training year through an incredible march past led by our Coxswain, CPO1 Titcombe. The band also performed a freestyle routine (led by CPO2 Stafford and CPO2 Truong)!

Congratulations and a big Bravo Zulu to the following cadets who received awards at ACR:
CPO2 David Truong was not only named the Ontario Division Sea Cadet Musician of the year, but also the National Sea Cadet Musician of the year!
CPO2 Gwendolyn McIlvenna was awarded the Legion Medal of Excellence
CPO2 Marcus Carter and PO1 Mazarin Poaty-Amar were awarded the Navy League Medal of Excellence.
CPO2 Riley Stafford was awarded the Lord Strathcona Medal
CPO2 Marney Norcross received a Bravo Zulu from the Navy League of Canada - Ottawa Branch
