Ontario cadet week parade:

Those cadets who signed up to march in this morning’s parade from Parliament Hill to Ottawa City hall.

Drop off at the CONFEDERATION BUILDING. Then meet at the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill at 9:15am.

Activity should wrap up by 11:30am.

Due to a change in facility availability at HMCS Carleton, this Monday's training night (September 21) will be held outdoors.

Please note the following:
Location: Cadets will meet in front of the building to start the evening.
Dismissal: Because of the early sunset and cooler temperatures, we will be ending exceptionally at 8:00 PM (20:00) this week. Parents, please plan your pick-up accordingly.
Format: We will run two training periods, followed by a short closing parade and announcements before dismissal.
Dress: Cadets should wear FTUs (instead of C3B) to suit the outdoor environment. Please dress for the weather, with warm layers as needed, since we will be outside for the full evening. Cadets may optionally bring headlamps if they have them.

Regular training night hours will resume the following week.

Tomorrow is the big day! Your cadet has been working so hard and it will be a moment for all of us to take pride in what they have accomplished this year.

A few notes:
Tomorrow is Tamarac Race Weekend with many road closures around the city. Please give yourself extra time.
As you may have noted today, there is construction around the complex, including the parking lot. There is parking in the residential streets if the lot is full.
Please try to arrive by 12:45. The review will begin at 13:30

Now for some other upcoming events:
June 1st: Squadron Sponsoring Committee elections for the 2026/2027 year. See note below.
June 6th cadets from across our region have been invited to the REDBLACKS home opener.
June 12-14 is the year end trip. Please pay the deposit and complete the form (cadet access only)by May 28th to secure your a spot.

Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) Elections

The SSC elections for the 2026/27 Cadet year will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 6:30PM at HMCS Carleton. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out as this is your opportunity to vote for the elected Directors of this committee.

The SSC is made up of a group of 11 Directors with an executive group comprised of the Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

If you are interested in becoming a Director please indicate your intention to the Chair by email ([email protected]) no later than Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Expectations of Directors:
Attend all SSC meetings (typically fourth Monday of every month excluding July and August).

Actively volunteer at activities and events on Monday evenings and/or other nights and weekends as possible.

If your calendar/workload permits, take on or assist in at least one major project or role per year (i.e. community engagement days, canteen, communications)
