A quick look at the heart of what Centre Churches Social Action Committee does in our community. 🎥

This short video came together over months of work, filming right here in Central Ottawa - at a member church, at the Centretown Community Food Centre, and at a dry run for this year's walkathon. Then refining it piece by piece to get the story right. A huge thank you to Dan Carriere of Convergence Media for capturing and editing it, and to everyone who helped shape it along the way.

Our Walk for the Centre is coming up on Sunday, October 4th at Canadian Martyrs Church, 100 Main Street. Registration and net proceeds go directly to the Centretown Community Food Centre, so whether you walk, sponsor a walker, or donate, it all counts.

A big shout out to our ever generous sponsor, Dave Longbottom, owner of Flora Hall Brewing!

Flora Hall is a neighborhood gathering place created to welcome and delight customers with delicious b**r, food and attentive service. Dave's vision was formed by a lifetime of travel, other ventures and time spent observing great community gathering spaces. https://florahallbrewing.ca/.

Flora Hall opened in 2017 after repurposing a beautiful heritage building in Centretown. The unique award winning b**rs are crafted with love by founding Brewer, Rod Hughes, who helped make the place truly distinct from day one. Flora Hall is a proud supporter and sponsor of many important community causes.

Our Walkathon Chair, Doreen Barnes, was expressing gratitude for the $5,000 grant from Dave Longbottom at Flora Hall. Dave replied: "Well you just keep on doing what you do and we will keep giving the money! That is what we do!”

Thank you, Dave for being such a great neighbour!
