Ottawa Innercity Ministries Ottawa Innercity Ministries (OIM) is an interdenominational Christian charitable organization serving the poor and homeless in downtown Ottawa.

For over 30 years OIM staff and front-line volunteers make sure our hungry, hurting, and isolated street friends receive not only food and clothing, but companionship and care without judgement. In 2022 OIM made 25,000 street friend connections, providing emergency relief for adults, veterans, and youth. OIM programs include:

Street Outreach – Our core program where Volunteer teams are meeting up to 170 people per day, up from 60 in 2021

Door Outreach - Volunteer teams serve 70+ friends each Tues & Thurs, up from 20 in 2021

Innercity Veterans Outreach & Support (IVOS) - Volunteers lessened the isolation of 133+ Veterans, personally supporting them at weekly Drop Ins, monthly Movie Nights, in just over 2 years. Innercity Arts - Volunteers nurture a safe & supportive environment for youth ages 16-32, to engage in the visual and musical Arts Community

The Willis College Veterans’ Tribute Luncheon is an opportunity to come together at the beginning of Veterans’ Week to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country.

This fundraising luncheon will also bring attention to Veteran homelessness, featuring a guest speaker who will address this important issue.

📣 Join our team at OIM! We're looking for a Resource Coordinator to support the behind-the-scenes work that makes our daily outreach possible.

In this role, you'll coordinate donations, oversee the pantry and food bank partnership, manage inventory and supplies, steward donor relationships, and lead a team of approximately 12 volunteers. You'll help ensure our programs are consistently equipped to serve people experiencing poverty and homelessness across Ottawa.

If you're a strong organizer with a heart for community engagement and caring for others with compassion, we'd love to hear from you.

What happens behind the doors of Door Outreach on Tuesdays? 🚪

There’s a lot of teamwork happening behind the scenes! Our street friends go through a list with a volunteer, and then those orders come inside, where another team gathers and prepares the food and supplies they need. ❤️

Each order is carefully recorded, filled, and brought back out so our friends can pack their items into their own bags.

We’re so grateful for every volunteer and supporter who makes Door Outreach possible! 🫶
