Name: Primrose
Breed: DMH
Est. DOB: April 4, 2022
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: Maybe if they provide good treats
Good with dogs: Unknown

Little Miss Primrose was supposed to be an overnight stay in April. Petite, pregnant and truly pathetic with that terrible haircut. Heartbreakingly, all four of her kittens died within 24 hours. Since then, Primrose has been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and she is now ready for a home of her own. We gave her extra time, hoping she might decide that people are wonderful. Her verdict: we are acceptable staff and should know our place, serve meals (on time), scoop litter boxes, and provide a warm bed.
Primrose likes to be close by, just not too close. She sleeps on the bed, lounges on the arm of the chair. Try to pet her, however, and you may witness a new land speed record as she bounces away. She has never missed a meal or refused a treat, and she excavates her litter with the enthusiasm of a mad bunny. Primrose is not shy: she plays in plain sight, naps wherever she pleases, and is very much part of the foster clowder. We do not know her full history, but her condition on arrival, her FIV+ status suggests she had been outdoors for some time. She may never be a cuddly lap cat, but she is funny, resilient, and wonderfully herself. For the right person, someone happy to love her on her own terms. Primrose could be a truly special companion.
She must be in a home with another cat(s). If you think you could fulfil the role of servant please complete an application and we will see if she will agree to a Zoom chat. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2FvkVEEC73Z9jHmzDC9%3Ffbclid%3DIwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAcGRvZgVicmlkETF1c1IyeExHUm5XZ3V2VFQ3c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHl71f5Lw2OXDvHxsjagtM6-phjABnWbZh9d_vdiUlolyVa3M_YpoBWi0J699_aem_fRiSqO_TIejW98RQdPDXrQ&h=AUAAtAk4IHf93jie-amEVRHbs9NUXTGdRxzHa_3P4nZb66ExP0OF40LO3JvTq3jcRV4uXe2std7mxZrHrgsrIwoGxFtetFhR5tMmClvPeEEHmQeMsYqkpz1D0hhO0uN8J2YHdFH-CmMcsVXXClB64EPP7pf0OOzr&__tn__=-UK-R&c[0]=AUDsarpb4dv4WcQTVbz6kR97f7PHWys1T9MatPgwJFfrIVWoNcCQzzVZvOAeh_VxJCu1dYXaT1p_x8Se-tYwuzglHOzMH56S23S5fyuGHdIn4WeFI9zXprIDhf3ssRtLCdnrIfQJlAXcWCPGRgvZmLFYUo0UBIPTODSNs2haiWp-Gr-MKHLQ_MXSAb9ophCFK71qqgW2GwAFunpbLJuqt98xsaUbKUkMGYwAuA

Annie and Fern are two smart cats who each found their way to a foster mom while she was trying (and failing) to take a break. Despite every effort to locate their owners, neither cat was claimed. Now healthy, vaccinated, microchipped and spayed, they are ready to find loving homes where they will always be safe and cherished.

Names: Annie and Fern
Gender: Female
Breed: DMH & DSH
Estimated dates of birth: September 2024 and September 2025
Good with cats: Unknown
Good with children: Yes
Good with dogs: Unknown
Litter trained: Yes
FOSTER NOTES:
Annie — This charming little lady is happiest on or near your lap, especially when chin scratches are included. If Annie had her way, a welcoming lap would be available all day, although the sink will do in a pinch! Having a bad day? Let Annie purr your worries away. As she is declawed and reacts fearfully to other cats, Annie needs to be the only cat in her new home.

Fern — Despite all the changes she has experienced since being found in the woods, Fern remains curious, playful, and affectionate. She loves perching on a window ledge and napping in the evening breeze. Fascinated by the resident cats, she has even started bringing her toys near the door for them. Fern is as playful as ever and has also become wonderfully cuddly. She enjoys curling up in the crook of your arm, rolling onto her back, and making biscuits in the air. With time and careful introductions, she could become another cat’s best friend.

Should you feel you could be their family please complete our application form https://www.facebook.com/ottawakittenrescue/posts/256516833551414 and we will schedule a chat with Foster Mom and Fern/Annie.

A memorable thanksgiving for one family and one cat. Sweet as a buttercup from day one, this little cat came to us from “the list” We ensured that her minor medical needs were addressed. Once confirmed healthy—and clearly playful, affectionate, and adorable it wasn’t long before Buttercup caught someone’s eye. Could she be the perfect feline friend for Ellie? The family made its decision: YES! Today, Buttercup begins her forever life. Home at last.
Welcome, Trisha, Ray, Izzie, and Nathan, to the OKR family! And thank you to Reita and Dante for stepping up and loving Buttercup as your own.

PLEASE-NO ADOPTION ENQUIRIES - WE WILL UPDATE ON THEIR PROGRESS.

We were contacted by a rescuer about an out of control back yard breeder/ hoarding situation. With three adopted this week the cat distribution system was in full force and effect. We accepted three of the many. These handsome 9 month old British Short Haired cats are neither socialized or vetted. We will be working on that. The initial vet visit was $700 and their foster is ‘enjoying bonding’ over meds to eradicate Giardia (a nasty little parasite that can cause havoc to the gastro-intestinal system- animals and humans).

Meet Winston bishop, one of three brothers that joined our care on Sunday.

These boys will not be available for some time so we will not be answering adoption inquiries at this time

These guys had an expensive day at the vet yesterday where we found out they have Giardia. Thankfully treatable.

A certain 6 year old had been entertaining the neighbourhood cats. She invited them in but they all went home at the end of the day. Today a very excited young lady is welcoming home her very own cat. Space already made on her bed for her new best friend, toys and treats at the ready. Michelle, may have had a rough start but she is in for an amazing life. In foster Mom's own words 'Happy tears. Michelle will be so loved. They were so nice I wanted them to adopt me'. Welcome to our newest family members and thank you Shannon for seeing Michelle through a very rough time and making today possible.

Wednesday seems to be Zerah’s day. Fourth Wednesday post and LAST time in care. Zerah’s foster parents are leaving for a vacation today. Her third foster home was lined up. Monday evening the perfect application appeared. Zoom chat noon yesterday. Amazingly it was freakin’ perfect. No more moves for Zerah she is home. Welcome Jeannine and Mike to the OKR family. Thank you Gail (her first foster), Audrey and Darryl (have a fabulous vacation) for all of the care, love and time you poured into Zerah.

THIS is Annie.- Thank you Chameau - 2 year old Annie is a total love bug and will be made available October 5th.
Foster notes: Annie is as affectionate as she is soft. During her play time, she prefers to flop around so you can make sure she gets scritches on all her sides, letting out big big purrs the whole while. When you stop, she looks up at you with her big eyes
