Earlier this week, several K9 teams had the opportunity to train with the Hill Island Coast Guard. Both live find and HRD teams were transported by coast guard vessel to an island, where search exercises were conducted. CCG crew members assisted on land, too, playing the role of 'lost person' and acting as flankers for the dog teams.

The HHRDD team spent the past week conducting a site survey in northwestern Ontario. Search zones included dense old-growth boreal forest, remote islands, an old quarry and zones immediately adjacent to active railroad tracks. Teams overcame every challenge as they accomplished their tasks. All members have now safely returned home.

Our HHRDD team spent much of the past week conducting a site survey in Northern Quebec. Despite many logistic challenges, the dog teams were able to cover all assigned areas with 30 minutes to spare. Gratitude to the community support team who got our team where they needed to be, with resilient calm. All HHRDD team members have now safely returned south.
