Youth Net/Réseau Ado

Youth Net/Réseau Ado This page is for the promotion of YNRA initiatives, events, awards, and youth achievements. It is NOT A CRISIS FORUM of any kind.

If you're facing a mental health related crisis, please contact local crisis lines at www.ementalhealth.ca YNRA offers a variety of alternative support services for youth (aged 13-20). We strive to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health & mental illness through prevention/intervention activities, education, research and advocacy. This is accomplished through providing Focus Groups, Presentati

ons, Info Booths and Initiatives. Clinical Backup is provided for ALL YNRA programs and activities. This means that there is a Youth Net Social Worker on call at all times during program hours to ensure the safety of our young people who may be in crisis or in need of help bridging to community resources.

May 4-10th is Mental Health Week and Youth Week! Here at we work hard every day to empower youth and advocate for more youth engagement strategies across youth facing services. This years theme is "come together, Canada: stronger connections, better mental health" so this week we'll be sharing different Eastern Ontario based resources youth can connect with as well as keep you up to date about what we're doing here at YNRA!

Let's continue to celebrate the wide range of contributions youth (ages 12-25) make to their families, schools and communities. Fun fact Youth Week was officially recognized by the City of Ottawa in 2022!

This week let's pause, listen, and take notice of young people's ideas and efforts. We can go so much further together than apart!

Our hearts are so full over here at YouthNet today 🥰 A few weeks back we had the privilege of hanging out with the grade 5 crew at .anne.elementary.school and facilitating our wellness101 workshop and doing a mini pens and paint activity (see previous post for those awesome pics 📸). Well today their team of incredible humans invited us back and presented us with a donation of $5000!!

We are stunned, speechless and honestly teary eyed. This group of 70+ grade 5s and their fabulous teachers have worked so hard all year long to fundraise for our YouthNet programming 🥳

From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much to everyone in the St. Anne's community who volunteered their time, supported their kiddos, and offered friendly advice. We couldn't do this work without our community and we are so grateful to all the kids that took the time to raise this money and who learned all about mental health and well-being in the process.

The world is in safe hands with this generation 🌎
