CAHP President Adam Hatch and consultant team-lead Ria Al-Ameen presented at the Carleton University Symposium - (from) Adaptive Reuse (to) Adaptive Architecture last week!

Speaking to a full room, they discussed the key findings from the CAF report and using a conservation-centric approach to retrofit and adaptive reuse in Canada.

Devant une salle comble, ils ont présenté les principales conclusions du rapport du FAC et ont abordé l'utilisation d'une approche axée sur la conservation dans le cadre de la rénovation et de la réutilisation adaptative au Canada.

The Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP) announces the release of its report, "Unlocking the Value of Existing Buildings: A New Approach to Codes for Carbon, Culture, and Cost". Funded by Natural Resources Canada’s Codes Acceleration Fund, the report demonstrates how retrofitting existing buildings through a conservation-centric approach delivers lower carbon and life-cycle costs than new construction, while also enabling faster delivery of housing.

L’Association canadienne d'experts-conseils en patrimoine (ACECP) annonce la publication de son rapport, « Valoriser le potentiel des bâtiments existants ». Financé par le Fonds d’accélération des codes de Ressources naturelles Canada, le rapport montre comment la rénovation des bâtiments existants, dans le cadre d'une approche privilégiant la conservation, permet de réduire les émissions de carbone et les coûts sur l'ensemble du cycle de vie par rapport à la construction neuve, tout en accélérant la mise à disposition de logements.
