We’re growing something special in Kitchener, Ontario—and we’re looking for passionate community members to help bring it to life.

In collaboration with , Abbeyfield Kitchener–Weber is currently recruiting Founding Board Members to help guide the development of a new Abbeyfield house: a place where older adults can live independently, with social connection, and mutual support in a safe and welcoming environment.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of something from the beginning—shaping a community that will support seniors in Kitchener-Waterloo for years to come.

We’re looking for individuals who care deeply about community-building, housing, and aging well, and who want to contribute their skills and perspectives to a meaningful initiative.

Who is a “good fit” for Abbeyfield?

Many people who live at Abbeyfield were tired of maintaining their home and spending too much time alone. For some, stairs became a challenge. For others, shopping and cooking meals became a burden and their nutritional needs suffered.

We know that good nutrition and social interactions are very important to everyone's physical and mental health.

Residents report that living at Abbeyfield helped to meet these important needs and improved their overall quality of life.
