We need your help! πŸ’œ

Just over a year ago, we had the opportunity to watch the short film "Under the Lights": a powerful story that highlights how life-changing an epilepsy diagnosis can be, while also showcasing the incredible impact of having a strong support system.

Now, we have an exciting opportunity to bring a screening of the full-length feature film to Ottawa...but we need your help to make it happen!

Please take a moment to cast your vote. Every vote brings us one step closer to sharing this important story with our community and helping raise awareness about epilepsy.

Thank you for your support, and don't forget to share this post to help spread the word! πŸ’œ

This past weekend, thanks to the generosity of one of our amazing donors, we were able to send one of our families to the Ottawa REDBLACKS game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! 🏈❀️

For many families living with epilepsy, fun outings like this can take a back seat as they navigate appointments, treatments, and the day-to-day challenges that come with the condition. That's why opportunities like this are so meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to our generous donor for making it possible for this family to enjoy a memorable night together and enjoy a great game right here in our beautiful city. Experiences like these create lasting memories, and we're so grateful to be able to help make them happen.

πŸ’œ Community Highlight! πŸ’œ

A huge shoutout to the amazing students from the Brain Bee Club at Lisgar Collegiate Institute! Throughout the past school year, they organized a fantastic bake sale in support of Epilepsy Ottawa, raising $104 to help support epilepsy programs and services in the Ottawa region.

Thank you for your creativity, hard work, and generosity. It's inspiring to see young people making a difference in their community. Way to go, Brain Bee Club! πŸ‘πŸ§

If you're a parent, grandparent, teacher, caregiver, or anyone who cares about the safety and well-being of children with epilepsy, now is the time to speak up.

The Ontario government is accepting public feedback on proposed changes to PPM 161, the policy that guides how schools support students with prevalent medical conditions, including epilepsy. This is an important opportunity to advocate for stronger, clearer, and more consistent supports for students across the province.
