This holiday season, we're raising $2.5 million to advance surgical care across Durham Region, including support for the Mako 4 Smart Robotics™ System for orthopaedic surgery at Oshawa Hospital and other critical surgical priorities.

After spending nearly 30 years at Lakeridge Health caring for cancer patients as a Radiation Therapist, Joy experienced cancer care from a different perspective: as a patient herself.

Today, Joy uses a Donor-Advised Fund to support the causes closest to her heart, including Lakeridge Health Foundation. Her generosity helps ensure future patients have access to exceptional health care close to home, surrounded by the people who matter most.

Today, we're joining the conversation around , a national day that celebrates the impact of Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) and the generosity of donors who use them to support the causes they care about most. DAF Day takes place each year on the second Thursday in October and encourages donors to turn charitable intent into community impact.

At Lakeridge Health Foundation, we're fortunate to see that impact firsthand.

Later today, we'll share two stories that showcase the power of DAF giving. You'll meet Joy, a former cancer care professional and patient who uses her DAF to help ensure exceptional health care remains available close to home, and Mark Bull, a donor and financial advisor who helps individuals and families turn charitable planning into lasting community impact.
