Policy Power wrapped with impact!
Our final day brought the energy with a Policy Concert where our ACB Policy Champs in Durham Region presented powerful policy issues affecting our communities. Huge thanks to MPP (Oshawa) for joining us, sharing insightful guidance, and opening the door for continued engagement and collaboration.
Grateful to our amazing facilitators for equipping our champs with the skills to turn community voices into policy action. The work continues — and this is just the beginning!

Black men are disproportionately targeted in HIV criminalization cases in Canada. Between 1989 and 2020, 35% of men prosecuted for HIV non-disclosure (where race was known) were black yet in 2019, Black men made up only 17.7% of new cases. This points to a clear racial disparity in how the law is applied.
