Arts Immersion is a participant-centered, community-based program that uses creative mentorship to foster connection, confidence, and well-being for individuals facing mental health and access barriers. By pairing participants with professional Artist Mentors, the program creates safe, flexible pathways for artistic expression that reduce isolation and support personal growth.

✨ Meet one of our Artist Mentors - Jessica ✨
Jessica studied fine art and design for seven years at the Helen and Arches Centre for Art, graduating in 2012 with concentrations in Interior Design, Jewelry & Metals, and Goldsmithing 🌟
Guided by a deep respect for nature and sustainable practices, her work celebrates the harmony between organic form and minimalist design.
Through her business, Toadally Jewelry, Jessica blends ancient goldsmithing techniques dating back to 1300 BC with modern design and sustainability, creating work that reflects both the beauty of imperfection and the connection between material and maker. Beyond jewelry, she works in beadwork, printmaking, murals, painting, and even music and yoga, encouraging creativity in all its forms.

As Jessica says:
💬 “I believe that when we lift one another, we all rise. Supporting others in finding their creativity, expression, and strength is at the heart of my work.”
💬 “Art has always been a part of my life… perfectly imperfect, just as it’s meant to be.”

As a mentor with Arts Immersion, Jessica inspires participants to explore multiple mediums, find their own voice, and embrace the joy and growth that come from creative expression in a safe and supportive environment.

✨ Meet one of our Artist Mentors- Nathan ✨

Nathan is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blends visual art, music, and storytelling in experimental and immersive ways 🌌🎶 Growing up in a family of artists and musicians, Nathan was surrounded by creativity from a young age, which shaped his love for layered, textured, and expressive approaches to art.

Inspired by the video games of his childhood, Nathan creates worlds, messy, dense, and layered, combining minimalistic low-poly 3D designs, expressive painting, poetry, sketching, and evolving musical loops that invite viewers to explore narrative and emotion in new ways.

As Nathan says:
💬 “Storytelling is at the core of everything I do; I believe every piece has a narrative, whether it’s abstract or literal.”
💬 “I aim to capture that feeling of exploration and discovery in my own work, inviting others into the worlds I create.”

As a mentor with Arts Immersion, Nathan encourages participants to experiment, combine mediums, and find their own voice, whether through sound, visuals, writing, or layered abstract expression. He meets participants wherever they are, helping them translate imagination into engaging, multi-sensory creations.

✨ Meet one of our Artist Mentors - Kim✨

Kim is an artist and instructor inspired by the beauty of nature and the charm of animals 🐾 She has been painting full-time since 2009, earning recognition as the Kempenfest Feature Artist and achieving Master Pastelist Award and signature status (MPAC) from Pastel Artists Canada in 2013.

As a Certified Bob Ross Instructor, Kim shares her joy of painting through beginner-friendly and advanced classes, including pet portraits, drawing, and her signature “Joy of Painting” sessions. Her work with oil paints and soft pastels celebrates wildlife, pets, and the world around us, encouraging participants to see the world with fresh eyes and embrace their own creative potential.

Kim’s artistic mantra, inspired by Bob Ross, guides her mentorship:
💬 “The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it.”💬 “Painting allows us to see the world through fresh eyes, and I encourage my students to embrace this process.”

As a mentor with Arts Immersion, Kim nurtures confidence, skill, and joy in participants of all experience levels, helping them explore creativity and discover the transformative power of art ✨
