Heads up!

The CRA is rolling out SimpleFile (Automatic Tax Filing) — a new, invitation-only program where eligible people with low income and simple tax situations may have their tax return prepared automatically using info the CRA already has (like T4s and benefit records).

Could help people who don’t file every year get important benefits/credits like:
• GST/HST Credit
• Canada Child Benefit
• Canada Disability Benefit

Starts with the 2026 tax year (first automatic filings in 2027) and will be phased in over time. You can also opt out if you prefer to file yourself.
