We develop innovative programs and seek partnerships that will meet the needs of those in distress or who are struggling to provide the basic necessities for themselves and their families. Over 1 MILLION Ontarians used a food bank this year! 1,007,441 people, up 87% since 2019. This isn't a once-off event, it's a crisis and this is the 9th year in a row food bank use has risen in Ontario.

Every family in Oakville deserves enough to eat. September kicks off and you can help us meet the growing need right here in Oakville, here's how:

Meet Kerr Street Mission's first full-size refrigerated food truck!

Made possible and funded entirely by the generosity of the Rotary Club of Oakville and its Charitable Fund, this truck means more fresh food rescued, less waste, and more Oakville families with what they need on the table.

The truck was unveiled to KSM’s Senior Leadership Team, Rotary Club members, community leaders, and local media, who joined us for a morning of demonstration and tours of our building.

The timing couldn’t be more important. September marks Hunger Action Month across Halton, and the need in Oakville is at record levels. Food Market visits have grown more than 300% since 2019, and roughly 1,300 individuals now rely on the Kerr Street Market every week, more than 65,000 visits a year.

To the Rotary Club of Oakville: thank you for showing up for our community in such a big way.

Individuals navigating poverty and food insecurity, families stretched past their limits, youth who need a safe place to grow and belong, newcomers finding their footing in a new country, seniors navigating isolation, KSM exists for all of you.

For 30 years, Kerr Street Mission has been a constant in the lives of Oakville families and individuals navigating hardship.

What started as a mission to meet practical needs has grown into a trusted space for those in need in our local community, offering programs that address food insecurity, youth development, seniors' wellness, newcomer support, and so much more.

The needs in our community look different than they did three decades ago, and KSM has grown alongside them, always with the same heart and the same commitment to every person who walks through our doors.
