This past summer we had a ton of fun with our very first adult rec program, so we are bringing it back! Come join us Saturdays at 3:45PM for a workout and push yourself to the limit.

Cost:

First class is $30, which includes a mandatory insurance fee
$20 per class after that
Cash or e-transfer to [email protected]

What to bring:

Athletic wear
Water bottle
Long nails aren’t recommended. They tend to get in the way and can break. Short or filed nails are easiest, but you’re welcome either way.

What to expect:

It’s truly an open gym. If there’s something you want to learn, the coach will gladly help you with it.

Girls and women deserve sport opportunities too! 💜

The future of the Miramichi Gymnastics Club is at risk. With roots in the region dating back to the 1970s, the club has called the Golden Hawk Recreation Complex home since the early 2000s. But with the impending closure of the Golden Hawk, and no dedicated space for gymnastics in the new Arbec Wellness Centre, the club will be left without a home.

That could mean hundreds of children and families across the Greater Miramichi and Kent regions losing access to gymnastics, with the next closest facility more than 120 km away.

Gymnastics is a foundation sport. Children as young as 18 months develop essential fundamental movement skills that provide a foundation for success in countless other sports and physical activities.

But gymnastics isn't just a pathway to other sports. It’s an important alternative for children who aren't drawn to traditional team sports, offering them a place to be active, build skills, and find their community.

And this matters, especially for girls and women.

More than 80% of New Brunswick's gymnastics membership identifies as women and girls. As female participation in sport and recreation continues to lag behind men and boys, we cannot afford to lose one of the spaces where women and girls are most strongly represented.

Closing the doors of a gymnastics club means closing the door on opportunities.

Opportunities to grow.
To build confidence.
To develop skills.
To stay active.
To challenge limits.
To find community.
To be surrounded by other girls and women who are cheering them on.

The Miramichi Gymnastics Club has been part of this community for generations. It deserves a future in this community.

⏰ Time is running out to find a new home.

We are calling on the City of Miramichi and surrounding communities to recognize the essential role gymnastics plays in the lives of local families—and to work with the club to find a permanent, suitable facility where it can continue serving the region for the next 50 years.

Because girls and women deserve sport opportunities too. 💜
