Mama Mia! Tallula recently turned 19! 🪩

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon celebrating Lu, who is a ray of sunshine in our home every single day! ☀️

Tallula loves music and singing along to her favourite artists—it’s no wonder her party theme was met with huge smiles.

We’re wishing Lu a wonderful year ahead! Happy 19th Birthday! 🎂🥂

We have some exciting news to share! 🎉

A generous $10,000 TELUS Community Board Grant from TELUS Friendly Future Foundation will go directly toward supporting our Snoezelen Therapy room with two new interactive wall panels.

For Logan, who experiences seizures and finds bright lights overwhelming, comfort comes in quiet, soothing environments. The Snoezelen room is one of his favourite places to relax. These new interactive panels will give children like Logan an accessible, sensory-rich way to play, explore, and connect with the world around them. 💖✨

Our team had the nicest note from Mark, after his son Josh’s recent respite stay.

“The entire drive home he was having fits of laughter and chatting all the way, he wanted me to know everything!

It’s not just the walls that make a home, it’s the people and the love within those walls.”

As much as respite is so needed for our families to rest and recharge, it’s critical to the children we serve. DHK allows our kiddos to experience the joys of childhood (whether being dressed as a mummy, or enjoying a bonfire with friends) in a safe, home-away-from-home environment. Every day, our home is filled with joyful “just-be-a-kid” moments like the one Josh experienced.💙💛💚

Our Care Team always makes sure that our kiddos experience many of the wonderful “just-be-a-kid” moments that make childhood so special.

From pumpkin crafts, getting snuggled up by the fire, spooky face painting, and “bobbing” for apples—we’ve been taking in all the joyful moments that autumn brings.
